State and Local Policy Makers

Policy makers at the local, state and national level often times hold the key to removing barriers, and crafting sound policies to solve the issue of homelessness.

Home for All works with a number of organizations focused on assisting policy makers as they consider what they can do to affect this issue in their communities.  Please contact us for more information on connecting with those organizations, or for more information on the suggestions below:

  • Become educated on the driving factors of homelessness in the state and our communities

  • Stay abreast of and learn more about legislation being proposed via Housing Action New Hampshire

  • Learn more about best practices in other communities and states for increasing affordable housing and ending homelessness, including things like offering property tax credits for expanding access to affordable housing

  • Invite input from organizations working with those experiencing homelessness as policies are being developed and considered

  • Craft housing policies that improve quality of life for all NH residents, housed and homeless
